Community Tours
Contra Costa Transfer Station
Tours of the Contra Costa Transfer Station are available for groups of 20 or less. The tour lasts no more than 30 minutes, and gives participants a chance to witness the millions of pounds of garbage that our county throws away each day. Much of this "garbage" is in fact recyclable material that has been wastefully discarded. Trucks and heavy machinery are in operation so please wear closed-toed shoes.
